Please join us on Tuesday, July 29 at 1:00 pm for a tour of the Westinghouse eVinci microreactor technology hub in Etna, PA. This facility is located in a former block-long pipe mill built in 1902 and has been leased by Westinghouse through December 2034. It is located near the 62 Street Bridge (PA route 8).
These self-sufficient small reactors can be transported on a trailer to remote locations. Each eVinci can produce 5MWe with a 15MWth core design. The reactor core is designed to run for eight or more full-power years before refueling.
The site has required the following information for any visitors:
Full Name: (First, Middle Initial, Last) Use your full first name (as on a passport).
Active Email Address: You will need to complete Security Vetting online.
The site has requested the above information by July 20 to prepare for our visit.
Due to a limit on group size, we are restricting attendees to Westinghouse SURE members and their spouses. If that changes, we will open registration to others.
A wait list will be maintained if the registration limit is exceeded. If spaces open, those individuals will be accepted based on the order in which they registered.
Please consider taking advantage of this rare opportunity which SURE has been pursuing for some time.
Please contact Dave Altman at wpaacers@windstream.net or (412) 605-8617 should you have any questions.
