Kyle Harder, Director of Business Development at Gateway Rehab, will talk about drug and alcohol addiction and treatment. Alcohol or drug addiction can happen at any stage of life. America is presently going through an epidemic of drug addictions stemming originally from overuse of prescription drugs. As seniors, we are more subject to arthritic pains and injuries from falls and may be unfortunately exposed to the risk of opioids for relief from these pains. The more we are aware of how addiction works, the better able we are to recognize these symptoms in ourselves or in our friends and loved ones. Kyle is looking forward to educating us on the myths and realities of addiction and how to recognize the threats.
